There’s always the question of that first track–the one you start the mix off with, the one that sets the groove for what’s to come. Who should I pick as the first little nugget to share with you? Well, rather than pick something you might’ve heard, I’ll go with something you most likely have not heard. Don’t think that it’s indicative of what’s to come. Or do, because it probably is.
stars of silentradio - open mind night pt. 2
This is something I recorded at an open mic night at Club Helsinki ’round january, 2002 or so. It is the second half of a fifteen minute set. For the geargeeky of you, here’s how the sounds were made. I massaged a 1/4″ patch cord which was plugged into an electrix filter factory which fed an electrix mo-fx which fed a digitech rds8000 which fed a digitech rds7.6 which fed a digitech rds7.6 which fed a digitech studioquad with a deep reverb patch. These were in a big 8 space rack box kindly made and given to me by doug. There were a good 7 or 8 people who didn’t go out to smoke during my set. I thank them. and peter–the sound guy who didn’t have much choice, but I’m pretty sure enjoyed it all the same.
